2001 Citroen C5 Exclusive review from UK and Ireland

No faults so far.

I found this website after I had placed my order at the local dealership, and a few of the comments made me think seriously about canceling.

This model was one of the VAT cash back special offers and there were several specifications and colours to choose from.

With a degree of nervousness I collected the car from the dealer, there it was resplendent and glistening and after the first few miles I new I was going to like this one, even with the engine off the speedometer moves every once in a while - this car has a heart.

I expected more from the adustable suspension, but in sports mode the car is really firm around corners, with a cross wind you can feel it move, but so did my Mondeo, sport mode eases this.

Current mpg is 42 on steady motorway runs with small amount of urban driving each way.

My suspension seems fine, but as a previous reviewer noted the xenon lamps do not seem to give enough spread, although I have never owned a car with them before.

The audio system is well layed out, but compared to other manufacturers does not have a system with an appropriate wattage.

The only true item of disappointment was once of my own choice, I was offered a paint protection product at additional cost as other manufacturers also offer, I am reliably informed by a Ford employee that the product worth is only £15-20 and is an incentive sale for the salesperson. There are many other similar products at any motor care shop - resist or spend £200 or more as the dealership can try for.
