"Complete waste of money"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The car is sluggish on hills, 0-60 = 2 days.

The handbrake doesn't seem to hold on the slightest of inclines.

The window sensors have almost always been faulty.

The headlights flicker when driving in the dark, they seem to dim then brighten for no apparent reason.

The rear speaker panels have come off and won't re-attach properly.

The foam on the drivers seat is substandard.

In cold weather, the airbags fault signal flashes on the display.

Just recently the electric windows, and mirror switches, on the drivers door have stopped working, but can be operated from all other doors, and upon starting the ignition, I get economy mode flash up on the display,

possibly caused by the alarm going off on its own, when the car is not in use.

To top it all off, I went to the car yesterday morning, to go to work, and lo and behold, the batteries flat, and I can't get into the car!!!

I've tried using the key to open the doors but it doesn't work... I'm at my wits end, the main dealer say that they have never heard of this before.

All I can think of is smashing the window, to get into the car, unless anyone can give me an alternative, I really don't know what to do about it.

The child mirror is permanently down, which may be causing the alarm to keep going off, which has subsequently drained the battery...

Please can anyone help?

General comments?

If I had to make any general comments on this car, I would say that it is very roomy.

Not so quick.

Looks good.

Not so good on fuel consumption.

Good stereo.

I'll steer clear of Citroen, in future.

If it's all singing, all dancing, then it's just more to go wrong.

Sounds like most of the issues you raise are all linked to the battery which after 6 years and 50000 miles needs replacing which isn't a bad result.

I work for Citroen so I know these are good cars and it's a simple thing to rectify.

Performance, well it's a big car and so you can't expect fantastic acceleration, it's an MPV and we find our customers are satisfied with what the engine can do.

I am sure if you take it to a Citroen dealer they can fix all your issues. Perhaps the dealer you are referring to isn't a Citroen dealer so is unfamiliar with the car.
