2000 Citroen Dispatch review from UK and Ireland
"Good overall van, but needs little things sorted to be a winner"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Plastic clips on both sliding doors have repeatedly broken (replaced first time, charged on the second, third and fourth sets)
The turbo destroyed itself after 55000 miles (would not replace under warranty)
Have had very silly electrical faults that have automatically cured for no reason i.e when braking the stop light would come on & indicators would temporarily stop working although citroen found trapped wires and have rectified since.
One of the end pipes on the first silencer broke off after 1 year (replaced under warranty)
General comments?
The van is very well maintained and warmed up, but still managed to crack the housing of the first turbo which Citroen did not replace as this was just after 3 years (£950)
The inside becomes quite noisy above 70mph especially when the door clips break giving the side doors a loose fit.
The brakes and steering/handling are superb.
The engine (1.9td not 2.0hdi) is quite nippy although more revving is required to the later 2.0hdi model.
Found comfortable on motorways and could happily cruise at 80-90mph all day.
