"Cheap, dependable, practical and above all, fun"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Corroded rear brake pipe - cost 80 pounds to fix

one brake light bulb.

Otherwise, not even needed any work for MoT!

General comments?

These cars are incredibly reliable and cheap to run, also spacious and comfortable. The handling is superb, and you won't find more communicative steering this side of a Lotus Elise. The brakes (discs all round, inboard at the front) put most modern cars to shame.

On the downside, they are quite slow to accelerate and noisy compared to a modern car. Overtaking above 60mph requires plenty of space.

They also roll a lot in corners, but surely that's a sacrifice worth making for not feeling (or getting knocked off course by) bumps.

If your worried about acceleration then get some hot spark plugs and some bigger jets for the Weber. She will bloody fly after that treatment. a good K&N air pod also gives the GS's the leap of life.
