The thread on the Saxo forum has received good responses, so you can take up your argument with them as well if you are so determined to have the last word.
They agreed you were making false claims, and I was impressed by their responses being level-headed and objective. The thread is called 'standard VTR performance' I am on there as 'captainroll'.
"The Audi I got is the 225 version, so yeah it will beat a Clio 172 or a Honda Civic Type R."
Nah mate, they are only quicker 0 to 60 by about 0.2 of a second coz of four wheel drive, but 0 to 100 they are actually by about a second slower LOL!
I though you weren't gonna get a TT coz they are unreliable?
"But 0 to 100 they are actually by about a second slower LOL!"
Yeah, but after that the Audi would be quicker cause it does 151mph, the Honda Type R does 146mph, & 172 137mph. I bought the Audi TT cause I got it cheap, cause I knew the person, and so far I'm happy with the car, and I've still got my VTR as a second car.

2nd that - A 225 TT isn't any quicker than a Civic Type R etc as they are just too heavy!
Having owned an Integra Type R and an Audi S3, I would agree the Honda felt much better to drive. More torque in the Audi, but the vtec Integra was quicker without a doubt, especially past 100mph the Honda would have just pulled away.
You would have to be doing more than 100mph before the TT started to pull back in front. That 4WD system means bigger losses, and the fact that it weighs so much means it will only start to edge back at speeds you would never go on the road.
You never replied to the thread on the Saxo site, doesn't look like the other owners agree with you either...

Funny how every car I talk about, someone has had one AND a Honda Civic.
How can you compare a Honda Integra Type R to any Audi? Audi's are in a different league to a Honda, and I don't just mean performance, I mean status. You get respect with an Audi TT, you don't get that with a Honda Integra Type R. The Integra Type R only has 187bhp compared to my Audi's 225bhp, above 100mph it stands no chance as my car's got more power, more torque and a higher top speed.
I don't own either, but when my brother had a DC2 Integra it was like an elite driving club with other owners waving and flashing their lights at you. Plus anyone who knows about cars gives it a nod of respect, unlike the TT which tends to be viewed as a hairdresser's car, which lacks personality and is just a bland sports car. It must be quicker somewhere up the top end because it does have a higher top speed, but I don't know where given that the 4WD system saps power and slows the car down once the initial launch is over with. In reality there is very little in it with these cars.
Funny how you didn't reply to the thread and pretended you weren't the guy off this site when I found you on there (it was you - I looked through posts and you owned a 1.1 before and said things pretty much word for word as you do on here, as well as getting the same spellings wrong in exactly the same way). You just hop from one false claim to the next.
JDM Integra Type R has 197bhp actually and only weighs 1060kg.
My Audi S3 I had weighed 1395kg, and yes I had the 225 version. After 120mph it seemed to take ages to go any more. On a stretch of road I use a lot the Integra would sail past 140 when the S3 was just hitting 130.
The weight difference between the cars is over 300kg!!! And I'm sorry, but 28hp ain't enough to overcome that weight.
And the audi gearbox sucks! It's far too notchy and clunky compared to the rifle bolt slick action that Type T's have.
I always wanted an Audi after having Hondas for 5 years (Civic 1.8 VTi and 2 Integra Type R's) but I just couldn't cope with the horrid gearbox, an engine that struggles to pull at all after 5000rpm, the wallowy handling (too heavy) and crap fuel economy (averaged 22mpg compared to Honda's 29mpg with some spirited driving and some cruising).
Yes the Audi had all the gadgets; heated seats, Bose stereo, auto dim rear view mirror, electric everything. But if you're a serious driver like me, all this weight ruins the car in so many ways. I even had the S3 remapped up to 270bhp, but this made the fuel economy even worse (averaged 17mpg), and the turbo lag was horrific. Even at 270bhp on ANY A or B road, the Teg is far quicker due to higher cornering speeds and more stable handling.

I'm not a member of a Saxo site, and like most people who have owned Saxo's, they start with the 1.1 cause of insurance.
VTR's are fun to drive. I own a Subaru Impreza, which is fantastic, but do like driving my brothers VTR from time to time, even going from the might of the Impreza I can see why some people believe it could post a sub 9 sec 0-60.
The fact that you refused to reply on the thread shows that even you don't believe your claims. You even said yourself you read the threads, and if you looked at the top speed thread you said to go to, nobody believes the ridiculous claims on there anyway.
You said the TT was unreliable, then got one despite saying you would not get a car like that, because it's not worth it on insurance compared to your VTR... even you don't listen to or believe your advice.

The Audi S3 is not as quick as an Audi TT Quattro. Why don't you try Parkers first.
Honda Integra Type-R 187BHP, I think you're getting confused with the 197bhp Civic Type R. Above 100mph 38bhp and 20 valves will make a difference.
You bad mouthed my VTR and now my Audi, what's next, you gonna bad mouth my cousin's Aston Martin Vantage? Your Civic faster than that too?
I read some threads, but I'm not a member so I cannot post, and I'm not signing up to argue with you.
I never said I wouldn't buy a car like an Audi cause of insurance, what I said was I wouldn't buy a high end hot hatch car that cost £25k, when at that price I could get a sports car that is worth the insurance. An Audi TT is a sports car, and I didn't pay much for it, so I got a deal. When I said they're unreliable is when I didn't have one, now they're great hahaha.
"When I said they're unreliable is when I didn't have one, now they're great hahaha."
That is the crux of the entire argument. You own the car so you defend it to the point that you make things up. Fair enough you like your car, but why don't you just accept it for what it is? I have already said the TT will be on a par with the Type R and Clio Sports (although if I wanted to be pedantic most figures show the latter as pipping it). But in this case it really would be driver dependent. Unlike the earlier scenario of a VTR with these cars.
Surely now you have the TT, even you can see that it would not keep up?
The guy is right about the Integra, look it up, the Japanese DC2 produces the figures he said (you should look things up before commenting, it would save you a lot of embarrassment).
It's probably best you don't comment on the thread as you would only end up arguing with even more people.
