2000 Citroen Xantia LX review from UK and Ireland
"Beautiful car that unfortunately doesn't age well"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I don't know which HDI model you can buy whcih doesn't have clutch problems (see previous drivers commtents re no clutch problems on HDI models). They DO have a plastic clip which is prone to snap off as I found out on my way to Preston. The RAC had to tow me home, this is not a roadside repair, the clip retails at about £4.99 inc vat. But be warned the labour is the Killer, just like any other Citroen problem it is not stright forward to replace.
Now have problems with leaking Hydraulic fluid, I have had 3 trouble free years of driving however now that my Xantia is getting older it's certainly showing it's age. It has been a beautiful responsive, reliable car until now and I'm sorry to say I'm starting not to trust it anymore.
General comments?
Handling on this car is fantastic the HDI engine is smooth and responsive and as for cornering I don't think you will find another suspension like it on a Joe Bloggs run of the mill family saloon.
Cab space is Luxurious as is the boot.
