"A high performance Luxo-Barge"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing, the car has been faultless.

General comments?

I love this car it is the first decent car I have ever owned (i am 22), the engine and performance are phenomenal, for instance I was cruising along the A1 and I glanced at my speedometer, I was doing 147 mph!!! the performance is very deceptive. I chose all the option packs which included 17 inch alloy wheels,300w harmon kardon audio (boom boom) electric recaro seats, colour satellite navgation- this was the last 50 xantias a 51 plate (v rare) the standard stuff was digital climate control, high resolution trip computer and lots of other goodies including electric every thing. the colour was a dark navy blue which looked stunning.

I am also a fan of the Xantia, and drive a 1.9TD. However, do you find the 2.0 petrol turbo economical? Also, was it hard to insure? (I am 22 also)

It was pretty thirsty, but I'm in the r.a.f so I get cheap insurance about 48% cheaper, but if your on civvy street its probably expensive.

What do you mean? "i am on medication" the car has been tuned and the audio was put by a citreon tuning garage

so it is capable of 150 and it has a after-market stereo.

Where do I buy a Hardman Cartoon 300W stereo from?

What tuning parts are available for a Citroen Xantia? I've seen so many in Max Power and Demon Tweeks NOT!

Maybe I don't see them because they are travelling so much faster than my Focus RS!

Hi.

Thanks for your answer regarding insurance and fuel costs. Can you give your opinion on the activa anti-roll control system? I want to know if it's as good as it sounds!

OK I'm sorry, I thought there was something wrong with the numbers you were quoting!

Being in France, are we talking 150 km/h, that sounds about right for a Xantia, but 150 mph no way, you are telling me its faster than a Subaru or Focus RS?

The Peugeot 406 SRi Turbo with the same engine can only manage 126 mph!

Maybe you should get your dealer to check your speedo, it sound about 30 mph out!

The anti roll is really great and it also has rear wheel steer and passive corrective steering.

I did the same and backed of when I looked at the speedo, and it will beat just about any car on a twisty round, the active suspension is just amazing, it can pull 1.1g through a corner, more than most ferrari's, you should see the face of some of those subaru drives when they can't loose you :-)

I have just picked up a used Active with 77k miles and FSH for 3 grand. Have owned Xantia SX for previous 8 years, but this is something else - beautiful car, I still can't believe it. Previous owner claims to have hit 140mph without realising. Insurance £480 for two 'mature' drivers (SX quoted as £450, so not much difference). Do you still have yours and how has it gone since your rave?
