Well, I exchanged this car for my Honda Civic Shuttle 1.4. That car was about to die so I thought a newer car with ABS and airbags would be quite a good deal. The car seems fine apart from some little niggles which I will explain.
1) Whenever I apply the brakes the peddle feels as if it is pushing in and out with you having no control over it. I can't just brake and get smooth braking action its very tempramental! Can anyone help?
2) Whenever I change from 2nd to 3rd the gear box makes a crunching noise unless I do this VERY VERY slowly. Do you think it just needs some gear box oil or something? (I am not very mechanically minded!)
3) Random lights just turn on where there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the car at all. VEry confusing.
I am VERY impressed with the cars ride quality, it really feels like me and myt passengers a**** are being massaged by some sexy masseur! It handles very well and is high on features. I also fail to realise the point of the car rising and falling like some sort of pimped up dodge charger they have in the states. It is cool however, but it's just another thing that could go wrong. The cars are very good on rust, I bought my N reg one with not a patch of rust on it!
The 1.9 D engine is sluggish to say the least, good on diesel, but sluggish. You really need to floor it to get any sort of acceleration! It does have good torque and once you get your speed you don't have to struggle to keep it.
There is no specific point to the car rising and falling, however, as the engine needs to be running to maintain hydraulic pressure, and therefore keep the car "pumped up", it slowly sinks when turned off.
The pulsing you feel through the brake pedal is likely to be because the LHM (hydraulic fluid) system needs bleeding.
