1999 Citroen Xsara VTS review from UK and Ireland
"Very good performance car, considering what they are worth now"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Steering ram I think (not entirely sure fixed by supplying garage)
Air con condenser. same as above
Air-bag warning light on. same as above.
General comments?
Excellent value car considering what you pay for these. All faults fixed by supplying garage, would have cost a lot of money if wasn't. Parts and servicing very expensive even from independent garage as most VTS bits are different from ordinary Xsaras. Holds the road unbelievbly well and good ride comfort considering sporty handling. Space in the back for a medium coupe oustanding, easily a four seater. As much room as our sierra we got now!
Performance very good, but as not as good as you would think with 167bhp on tap. To heavy possibly, with all the creature comforts? Very well equipped with climate control, leather seats and all electrics. Fuel economy not good even when driven sensibly. 25-30mpg. That tuned engine I think. Overall very good car considering what you pick them up for, just beware of servicing, parts and fuel costs!
