1999 Citroen Xsara LS review from UK and Ireland
"Nippy reliable family transport"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Very small engine oil leak, hardly uses any oil, just spot of oil under car when parked up. Witch I'm living with, no major problem.
Handbrake cable needed adjusting & new rear drums.
New heater blower resistor, heater blower fan not working. Cheap part & easy DIY fit.
Sticky clutch cable, living with it.
Usual airbag light on dashboard, again easy fix, faulty connector under passengers seat.
Petrol gauge reading not brilliantly accurate.
General comments?
Very economical car to run, averaging 40 - 45 mpg or 120 miles for £12 (94p per litre), cheap to tax & insure.
Parts seem reasonable.
Nippy car for a 1.4 8v engine.
Reliable & comfortable motoring.
No rust on vehicle, sound body work.
Brake pads last for ages.
Good sized boot.
Like the electric tilt & slide sunroof & electric windows. Also nice having front fog lights, as standard.
Central locking, as standard.
Nice nippy cheap to run family car.
