1987 Dacia 1410 TX review from Romania
"Robust, simple, easy and cheap to run"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The CV joints had to be repaired.
General comments?
The car is really great.
If you install an electronic
ignition system (capacitive discharge type),then
you won't have almoust any problems with it.
It will start at the first turn of the key even
in -26 degrees C. (if the carburettor is clean
and perfectly tuned)
No problems at all with starting in any conditions.
The engine is great and robust. Extremely easy to
maintain and to tune.
Valve clearance is really easy to set.
If you use a good oil, and change it regularly,
the engine can last up to 250.000 km.
Carburetor is extremely easy to clean.
No problems with it as well.
Any component of the car can easily be repaired or changed by anyone who has even basic skills in mechanics.
The gear box is also very rugged. No problems with
it as well. Needs to refill the gear oil from time
to time.
