1999 Daewoo Lanos SE review from Belgium
"Outdated by two decades"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Problem with power-steering after the first month (warranty but it took 2 weeks).
Rear-suspension spring broken!!! Fixed under warranty, but I didn't know this could still happen in the year 2000!!!
Left brake-disc got wobbly after about 15000km. THIS WAS NOT FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. My dealer claims this is normal and told me it had to do with my way of driving. Of course I always brake only with the front left wheel!!!
Fuel consumption is much too high. This car uses over 10 liters on 100km which is 2 liters more than my old 1600 Citroen.
Smaller problems, like all kind of noises that are really iritating.
General comments?
This car is a real disappointment. The amount and the kind of problems I experienced with it really makes you wonder what Daewoo considers to be quality.
Also the performance and especially the consumption point out that the engine is outdated by 2 decades.
The worst for me is that the price I get for the car when I want to sell it is so low that I realise that I'm stuck with it for another 2 years before I can buy another car (for sure no Daewoo).
