1999 Daewoo Lanos review from Australia and New Zealand
"You get what you pay for"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
All wheel caps flew off
side indicators on front wings fell off
radio only now works on AM, no longer FM
cv joints nackered
cursed- people like hitting it when driving out of car parks???
Sun-visors snapped off (dam West Australian sun of Perth!)
General comments?
The things going for the Lanos are the fact that they are rather cheap to run, are set at a cheap price to buy either new or secondhand, they have a good long warranty- needs it, have roomy interior and have nice soft velour seats oh and also beaut aircon.
OK the bad things- loud road noise, very very gutless, expensive to buy parts, bad blind spots, tinny, bad build quality, makes funny whirring noise, extremely heavy steering for a small car (this one has no power steering), firm seats, and you get a sore back when you drive it for a hour plus.
Overall it's a value for money car and has great European styling on the outside (though made in Korea).
