1984 Dodge Aries Wagon review from North America
"One of the best buys I have made"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought this car as a fixer-upper to use as a go-to-work car. Mileage unknown- speedo broke. It had almost everything wrong with it that could be imagined, including warped head, bad water pump, thermostat, hoses, no reverse, would not idle or pass smog test. Over a period of two years I fixed it with parts from E-bay and junkyards. Now I have been driving it for over two years and it has been incredibly reliable, and I still have only $700 in the whole thing including repairs.
General comments?
I never thought such a cheap old car could be so reliable, especially with unknown miles on it.
Good gas mileage- 28 or 29 MPG.
Performance is good with driver only.
Paint job has had it.
Driver seat is falling apart.
