"A comfortable affordable sporty car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Within the first month of owning my Avenger the transmission blew which ruined the clutch costing $1,500 to fix and that was just for parts.

A fog light burnt out also for some reason.

Head gasket leaks, but does not effect the performance.

General comments?

Even though I have had to change the transmission and the clutch already on a vehicle with such low miles I love my car. It handles any curves I can dish out the this car. The engine has a nice whistle at about 5000 RPM (rotations per minuet) which makes the car sound like it has a turbo. Engine response is great and the car is extremely fast, 130 MPH and up, stock! The interior is very comfortable, I could sit and drive in this car all day long.

I have a 95 Dodge Avenger. I love the car, but I have had to change the transmission fluid now twice in less than 15,000 miles. At least it is something I can change myself. I have had no problems other than that with the car. Very good gas mileage and handing. Very sporty car for the money. But I do not think the car would ever reach over 100. I have never had mine no where near it maybe like 80 something. I have the 2.5 v6 maybe I need to try it. I just do not feel the car would ever do over a 100.

I have had a great time with this car. This is my first car, so I would have an idea of it's capabilities. I have had it reach 110 mph no problem. So I am well aware of that it can reach speeds of 130 mph. With 135000 miles this car still runs amazingly great! No problems so far!! and had the car nearly a year now.

I myself have a 1996 Dodge Avenger ES and this is my first car as well. I love it. I don't know what you are talking about how you don't think this car can't do over 100. I've got it up to 100 very easily and I know it could do more. i haven't had any problems with my car yet. bought it with 80K miles on it and it is running very good. plan to do some performance upgrade to it.

Can't do over 100? Are you kidding? I ran mine to the end of the speedo and it was still pulling. It's mostly stock (all I have added is a cold-air intake) and while I have driven quicker cars, it's designed for high speed. Starts to squat instead of lifting off at 120+ like a lot of cars, and will rip through curves. Love mine, and it has the 2.0 4 cylinder, so I would hope your 2.5 V-6 would be able to do that.
