1996 Dodge Avenger ES review from North America
"Reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Repairs costly due to labor charges due to location of parts.
General comments?
I must say I love my Avenger, from the sleek outward appearance and fast take off. But the front is low and I have a habit of scrapping front bottom.
The only complaint I have is the repair cost; everything located in the front engine compartment is difficult to repair and get to. In order to fix one part you must remove other parts. Which is costly and time consuming when paying a mechanic.
Recently was told I must replace the water pump and timing belt ($750). Last year had to replace something that cost over ($650) mostly due to the labor fee to remove the engine inorder to make repair.
Not sure who built this car; but they definitely need to rethink repair procedures.
