What things have gone wrong with the car?
A year ago I bought a 1997 dodge avenger es. I loved the way the car looked. What I didn't know was that throughtout the 1 year that I have owned the Dodge Avenger I have put almost 7000 dollars into a car that has nothing but good looks and constant trips to the mechanic for repairs. The check engine light will always come on in this car, even if you fix the transmission it will eventually stall, hesitate, and sputter, especially in the cold until the motor falls out. The brakes squeek.
Everything mechanically has gone wrong with this car.
General comments?
My advice to anyone who is thinking about buying a dodge avenger for themselves, their son, daughter, or anyone should drop, I said drop the thought now. All it will do is give you years worth of headaches, bad memories, and dig you into a hole you cannot get out of. My advice to everyone is to stay away from avengers, infact stay away dodge, or chrystler. Go to Car fax for a lemon check and carfax report on any pre owned car, trust me its worth it.
Everything I have told you is the truth. The truth coming from a guy who fell into the dodge avenger trap.
Let it not happen to anyone else.
