1998 Dodge Avenger ES review from North America
"A few quirks, but overall an outstanding automobile!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Little things like:
Two of the speakers were shot.
The headliner on the sunroof cover is starting to peel.
Trunk and glove box light switches needed replacing.
And the nit-twit at the dealer tore the window tint on the passenger's rear window when he removed the window sticker.
The biggest problem with the car is the paint is wearing off rapidly leaving huge white blotches on the top, hood, and trunk.
General comments?
It is comfortable for everyday driving or long trips, but I do wish the steering column had more height adjustment to make getting in and out easier without hitting your knees.
Plenty of power when you need it, though it isn't a V8 muscle car, it is enough for this car and it will surprise a few people.
Great style! Some styles age poorly, but this one still fits in today as much as it did then. The style is timeless.
The best thing about it is the handling. This car can easily take a 35 mph turn at 45 or more.
And great gas mileage for a V6! Currently averaging 23 town / 32 highway!
Overall quality of the vehicle is good. A few little things like rattles and the sunroof doesn't always close like it should, but the drive train is bulletproof. An easy 200+ thousand miles!
