1999 Dodge Caravan review from North America
"Excellent family van and relatively economical"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had very few problems with this van; nothing serious to date (knock on wood!). I always go to my dealer for regular checks every 3000 miles. My gas mileage is usually 24-27 mpg. I have little trouble passing other vehicles and I feel very comfortable driving it. Seven months ago, I purchased 4 Goodyear Regatta 2 tires to replace the original Goodyear tires that came with the van and they have proved to make the van much more solid on the road and improved the overall drive tremendously.
General comments?
Keep a close watch on the transmission and service it as recommended in the owners manual.
The second and third row of seats are really not all that comfortable; bucket seats would be an improvement for the second row.
The noise level could be better especially when the wind is strong.
