1993 Dodge Caravan review from North America
"Biggest pile of junk I ever had the displeasure of owning"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This Van had everything wrong with it.
New brakes and rotors at 21,000 and then again at 56,000 miles.
Electrical system shorted out at 48,000 miles. Left me at the side of the road.
The radio stopped working at 30,000 miles.
New water pump at 45,000 miles.
This van ate spark plugs faster than I can eat chips, they were fouled almost every other oil change.
The manual window handles broke on both doors.
The sliding back door would not stay open. It would slide shut on the slightest incline.
Windshield wiper motor failed, had to replace at 58,000 miles.
Engine finally threw a rod at 71,000 and I called it quits with this lemon.
General comments?
This Van was the biggest nightmare and was the final American car I will ever own. I sold it to my neighbor for 500 bucks with the blown engine just so I didn't have to tow it away. He put a rebuild engine in the van at the tune of 1800 dollars and tried to resell it for a little profit. After a year of rotting on his lawn, he finally sold it at a loss. This van was cursed from day one.
