1994 Dodge Caravan Grande review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
For the first 2 years, the Van was maintenance free, ran like a swiss clock, started in all types of weather.
Then in the 3 rd year, I experienced AC problems, There was a leak in the tubes and I replaced all the hoses and it worked for 3 months. Then it would cut out on low pressure (out of gas again) It was cheaper for me to have the garage add 1 lb of freon gas during the summer months than to have the system completely replaced at a cost of over 1600.00. So for the next 5 years, we did just that. At about 180,000 the transmission started to go. At first, it would kick down when coming to a full stop. Later on, if you drove the van for a while (running hot), the Reverse gear would no longer work. Everything worked great in the winter time though. Overall the van served my family well for over 10 years, The transmission is failing, but only if you drive it all day. I've gotten used to the jerky stops.
