1993 Dodge Caravan from North America - Comments

"Happy with van"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I replaced the timing belt, water pump

cam seals, serpentine belt. The timing belt had never been inspected or changed, but was found in good shape (replaced anyways). Cost $700 at local garage. Dealer wanted $1800 for same job.

General comments?

Have had transmission inspected twice and oil changed (new gasket each time)

Did some undercoating, priming and painting with spray cans.

Runs fine, always starts.

It is cold in winter, heater not quite adequate for Canadian climate, but keeps windows defrosted.

I change oil and use throttle body cleaner routinely. Does not burn oil.

I still own this Caravan (May 2007) and it has 200,000 Km.

It needed a brake job and new tires and a new thermostat which fixed the heat problem in winter. It still is very reliable and is used every day.
