1992 Dodge Caravan Base review from North America

The van has a current overheating problem.

I Have had to replaced the thermostat and head gasket so far, but the problem is still there. Breaks are squealing currently and engine belts or something makes a strange noise.

Well this is my first minivan I have owned and I decided to buy it for the space and trips I take from time to time. I guess my first mistake was buying the van from a buy here pay here lot as I had no idea of how the previous owner or owner's have taken care of it. The van is in good condition condsidering the year and there is hardly any rust and it had brand new tires on it. When I test drove it it appeared to run well and pretty smooth, but shortly after deciding to purchase it is when I found the overheating problem. After about 20-30min of driving I would notice the temp gauge going up and at first thought it was low on coolant, well here I am a new thermostat and head gasket later and the problem is still there, the next step is replacing the radiator that looks pretty bad and hopefully then I will be able to drive the vehicle as it has been sitting for weeks now. With having a 2.5 four cylinder engine the van is not all that good on acceleration and I should have just stayed away once I saw that, but thought it would be a gas saver, bad mistake because it uses gas because you have to really press on the pedal to get some acceleration. Overall I cannot say how dependable the car is yet since it is sitting and the only other thing I have noticed is with the three speed automatic when going from 30-40mph I notice some slight shaking and I do not know if that is typical or another problem, I pray not! Once you get past that is runs smooth and I have not noticed much of anything else, but again I have not been able to drive it much. If anyone knows of any helpful information on this year and engine then please let me know.
