2000 Dodge Caravan review from North America

"Needs space to roam.."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

No serious repairs have been made so far. Have been religious about changing ALL fluids (otherwise your vehicle WILL get mad at you). The plastic hook for holding the drivers side visor snapped off easily. Also, the great storage bin underneath the front passenger seat has jammed shut. Had to replace the bearings on the front right wheel at 85,000 and now suspect the left will need changing as well. Brakes creak and moan as you come to a complete stop (fluids are topped off), and transmission is a little bit sloppy. The paint is starting to chip (very slightly) but from what I have observed in other cars blue (the color of my car) doesn't ever want to stick.

General comments?

OK, after bashing my car that severely let it be known that I consider myself a connesiour of knowing every little thing that is going on with my car. So... heres the good stuff! I wash my engine once a month and it has remained very dry (no leaks). Her ride is a little on the unsure side in stop and go traffic, but really shines on the highway. I guess you could say she needs space to roam? The seats are extra comfortable and the armrests on the front two seats are a nice touch. The engine, while by no means sporty, has a refined feel to it and can always seem to squeeze out a little more power if you know how to drive it. The car is incredible stable when pushed to the limits, however, it hates rough roads with a passion. So far I have traversed the country two times in it and I never once doubted that it would get me there. I owned this car in both NC and CO... as a former snowboard instructor let me say this car has claws on snow and ice!!! I owned a Subaru Legacy previously and I can honestly say the Caravan out performed the AWD Subaru in these conditions with good snow tires.
