"Cheap, Powerful, Roomy, Reliable"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Well Considering the car is 10 Years old, These things are wrong with it:

The 2 doors On top are scratching and wasting away, I beleive they are made out of a hard Styrafoam And I have no idea how to spell that.

Glove box latch is broken, But Still closes and opens, Need to open it a special way, but its very easy Once used to it.

Something in the passenger door Shakes when closed, No big deal.

Both electric seatbelts have run off the track and now the Belts are hanging out very far its pretty funny looking lol.

Right tire grinds on the bumper when turning, I really have no idea about that.

Left Corner light falls out on us, We need to tape it monthly.

Locks grind when Key is turned, I really don't care.

Driver seat is hard to adjust position.

Drinks oil badly. We bought it, not thinking to check oil, We drove to the mall Which is a 30 mile trip there and back, Smelling something, Probably not even from the car, but my senses said what the hell look under the hood and the thing was completely Dry oil wise, but luckily The car did not blow up and after new oil put in (3 QUARTS) started up no problem.

Seats torn badly, but Seat covers are a cheap And better looking alternative anyways.

Car rusts easily.

I beleive this is the original Manual transmission, it shifts harsh and Sometimes takes much power to Shift to reverse or 1'st, But For original at 133000 You can't complain.

Transmission Leather cover thing is torn a little, but definetly not a problem.

General comments?

This car is great. I know that whats gone wrong with it is long, But If you noticed it is all very small.

This Car is extreme base, It has No air conditioning, but going down the highway when its raining which means the windows must go up, it gets cold enough to keep you content. No Power steering which might be why it grinds on the bumper, But I like the way it drives with no power, it makes me feel like I have more control of the car. I don't know, I'm weird. No power breaks, but I beleive the brakes are wearing quite quickly. It has basically power nothing Except it did have power seatbelts, but like I said they have run off track. The Horn is awkward, sounds like the road runner and need to have key turned for power to run in able for the horn to beep. I am scared in the car sometimes because there are no airbags and the doors are very thin I feel I would die instantly in a side collision.

This car is very small, It might have been lowered at one time, but this car bottoms out frequently, often hit the radiator on 2 inch drops or pulling near concrete parking lot blocks. Now It might be because the car is so small that it is very quick. For such a small engine, and it is very small I can't beleive How much engine space is left. I beleive stock it comes 95 Hp, But the guy we bought it from put a performance exhaust on it rasing it to about 110. I don't know if I can call it a problem, but because it is quick I often fly forward when shifted to 2nd gear. The tires always squeel around turns and when shifting to 2nd quickly the tires squeel affirming the power it holds.

For how small it is, The interior Is extremely roomy. Upon first looking everyone commented on the roomy back seat and I would actually have no problem sleeping back there and when the front seats are rolled all the way back and lowerd all the way back, You feel like your sleeping in a large dome.

The trunk Is also spacious, We have no problems fitting what we need in there.

This car cruises very silently and smooth on 5th gear.

Now one of the best things is the gas mileage, Its GREAT. It has a small gas tank, but that is alll it needs. With gas prices rising, This is what you really need.

I highly reccomend this car, No engine problems have come about. Despite the extreme base modeling of this specific car, it if fun to drive. I highly reccomend Manual transmission Because it makes all the difference.

I would think this car would make a great family car, as well a great first car. For a 1993 I think it looks Appealing inside and out.

Excellent review of the Colt. I have the 95 Colt, and it is exactly the same as the 92 Colt. The car is totally base, but that is all that is needed: it feels like I am driving in a car that was reserved for the Gods, this car is so nice.
