1986 Dodge D100 Custom review from North America
"Good truck if your gentile with it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced alternator 3 times,
3rd alternator fried voltage regulator and the wire traveling from alt. to battery,
bad oil leaks start at 75,000,
mysterious electrical problem put the truck out of commission for a week and then started up for no reason,
u-joints went out at 76,000,
choke would stick in the on position,
ran very hot in all weather,
General comments?
I was fairly hard on it being a 2wd and taking through 4wd situations and driving it like a sports car. I have driven similar trucks in the same fashion and this truck just was not as strong as I felt it should have been. It was however very comfortable inside (beside being hot from the engine) and was easy to drive.
