1986 Dodge D150 review from North America
"Good work truck, very reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I first got the truck, it needed a tune up. I changed the spark plug wires, spark plugs, distributor, coil, air filter.
I was driving down the road one day and the drive shaft fell. Went down to NAPA and bought U joints.
It still wasn't running right after tune up, felt really slow, so I did a compression test. Every cylinder has the same compression, I found out that the timing was a little retarded. Got that fixed.
Roof had a little rust, body had some dings, I fixed all the rust and most of the body work on the truck, didn't really have much body work.
General comments?
The truck runs really great now.
I knew the previous owner on this truck, he did a lot of towing, used the truck as a work truck, this truck has been through a lot of abuse.
It's got aftermarket posi traction, 5 inch lift with 33's, detroit lockers, headers and exhaust.
This truck spends %50 of its time off road, 4x4 works perfect, handles really good in the mud. I have towed 10,000 lbs with this truck and have put 2 thousand pounds of cement in this half ton truck.
