1993 Dodge Dakota LE review from North America

Radiator went out at 60000

starter went out at 120000

fuel pump went out at 135000

Replaced all the rotors and drums at 190000

Passenger seat will not lean forward

Dash lights have gone out and come back

Paint peeled (gold & maroon) has since been repainted

There are noises that have come from the rear-end since I first bought it.

The first point is that I bought this used from Suburbon Ford in Sacramento. They had to work to make buying this truck as bad an experience as possible. I drove off the lot and the truck would not start 30 minutes later. When I called Suburbon to send a tow truck over they said that it was not there responsobility. As it turned out they put equipment on the truck incorrectly and burned up the main computor. They paid for it to be fixed!

My truck is 2wd, but I have had it in snow and mud and on rocks and it takes all slowly, but surely! The only reason I would need or want a 4X4 would be for the vanity of looks.

The truck performs great with the 5.2 liter motor. It even gets about 17 miles per gallon.

When I first bought the truck I added an aftermarket radio, and sunroof. Then a couple of years later added a new rear view mirror with a compass. With the additions I have made my truck would be difficult to improve on!

My truck is getting close to needing a front end rebuild. When I do start working on the suspension, I will also put a rear sway bar on it to improve the handeling a little bit.
