1992 Dodge Daytona ES review from North America
"One problem after another"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Three of the cylinder heads were found to be cracked a few weeks after purchase, which the dealer would not replace -- $1,500 fix.
The dash lights for the rear wipers died within 5 months.
The paint on the car started peeling after a few weeks, which the dealer also refused to fix.
The transmission gave after the first year -- $1,500 fix.
The shifting rod bent three times -- $50 fix each time.
There is water leakage from the back window.
The passenger side door no longer functions; if it opens, you cannot close it again. Unfortunately, it's the actual latch mechanism, so the door stays closed and locked now.
The stereo only functions during the summer, however the contacts are good.
The driver-side seat belt has gone bad twice.
The drive belt constantly squeals -- fixed twice, however after a few weeks it starts again.
The heat is very poor in this vehicle.
The brakes have been replaced, but that's fairly normal.
General comments?
The car runs fairly well, despite the problems listed above.
I've never had a problem with the A/C in the vehicle.
