1987 Dodge Daytona pacifica review from North America
"Awesome performance, comfort, mileage, and inexpensive too!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Number three cylinder oil ring broke 130,000 miles.
Passenger side outboard axle broken when purchased.
Rear engine cam seal button came out during driving at 129,950 miles.
Transmission shifts hard between first and second, and doesn't always downshift until stopping completely.
General comments?
Incredibly great handling car with awesome gas mileage.
Most comfortable seats I have ever sat in anytime in any vehicle. (mine are the "enthusiast seats", as dodge named them)
Looks sharp even after 17 years of wear and tear.
Stops on a dime, gives a nickel change with the upgraded four wheel disc brakes.
One of the fastest four cylinder cars I have driven.
I am still trying to get a new engine, but they seem rather inexpensive. I can't wait to run 18 pounds of boost and add an inter-cooler. True Honda and Mustang/Camaro killer.
I fixed transmission shift problem with a new filter and 5 quarts of Trick-Shift from B&M Performance. Shifts perfectly now!
