1999 Dodge Durango SLT review from North America
"It's a good truck"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had a simple little fuse go out at 93.000 miles.
Water pump went out at 103.000.
No other problems.
General comments?
I feel the owners who complain about their Durangos don't take care of them. My Dad bought this new for my mom when we lived in San Fransisco, they changed the oil every 3k miles and preformed general maintenance at the suggested times. Never left us stranded. Prefect oil pressure, doesn't leak or burn oil. Never any transmission/engine problems. They decided to give it to me so I would get rid of my very tired old Lexus. I keep the service up as they did. Just if you look to buy one of these, make sure its maintained.
Extremely easy to drive, its about as easy as driving a compact car.
You can always buy a car and not maintain it, but don't blame the manufacturer if you have problems, they tell you to do maintenance for a reason, and it saves you money in the long run.I'm not saying you have to pay the dealer, we have never once took it back to a Dodge dealer.
I plan to go out and buy a brand new one once this one is around 12.
