"Nickle and dime me to death :0 ("

What things have gone wrong with the car?

1st the fuel gage goes to empty and the gas light goes on.even though the car is full of gas. very scarie with 3 little kids under the age of 8 yr. in the car. had to turn off the car and restart it 3-4 times. it has know happened 4-5 times in the past 4wks.

As of 6/14/04 @ 5pm the two air vent controller both ft.& rear are working. both with a/c, air, heating. at 5:30pm got back into car turned on veh, turned on air (back & rear) only the back worked?? turned off back air and front air. turned back on front control no air. turned it back off. turned back on rear it worked fine.a/c fan and heater. turned off the veh, tried again, nothing changed, checked all fuses. nothing blown. tried again still no change only back worked. called dealership. they thought the fuses also. told them what I tried. they said they did not know,& that they did not know there was two controllers (oh ya that makes you feel comfortable) but if I had $80.oo they could look at it. not fix or replace anything, but look at it.

I worked at dealership's for over 10yrs. I know what it means to look at it (I worked in the service dept.) so I am not talking out of my butt.. but $80.00 I can feed my kids a lot of food for that. all I want is a bit of advice. to try to help me out.

Just seems weird for one side to work and not the other.

They had to fix a ecu a while ago with the heater. to make a check engine light go away. that was all good. but when they replaced the ecu, they disconnected the bottom heater blower for the foot are.. so I really do not want to bring it back to them..

Help... someone :0 (

General comments?

This car scarie when taking turns

feels like if you go to fast it may turn over and I drive very slow.. even slower on turns just because of the feeling on turns.

The leather seats are bad in the summer and winter.

Of course is feels like it is going to tip over, it's an SUV. Most of them do feel this way because of the height compared to your average car.

I have a 2001 Dodge Durango w/124,000 miles on it. I travel over the road all week, but on the weekend, my Durango gets a workout. I love to hunt and fish, and I have never been left out in the woods yet. I live in Minnesota, very cold winters, lots of snow & ice, very hot & humid summers, my Durango has performed flawlessly. I am about to put on a 3rd set of tires before winter comes. I have not replaced anything other than filters and tires since I bought it. I just recently replaced the serpentine belt because someone said I should. I did have the front end aligned last summer, other than those few items, my Durango has NEVER been in the shop for repairs.

Just last night on my way home from the store, the front heater/fan stopped blowing. I live in PA and it is cold here. My problem is weird the fan works on high, but not on the other three settings. The back seat fan works fine. I don't what it is I check the fuses and they're all fine and the switch works on high. I don't know. other than this problem the car runs great. I had it now for a year.

My 2001 had a resistor go out. It only worked on high and then completely went out. It is a $10.00 part from the dealer and installs underneath the glove box. Very easy and cheap fix.
