2005 Dodge Durango Limited review from North America
"Beautiful, but potentially deadly"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine has just mysteriously shut off while driving 5 different times in 5 months. Terrifying and very dangerous when this happens during a turn in front of oncoming traffic or on the freeway at 60 mph.
General comments?
Dealer has serviced the car for this very problem 4 times and have found no problem, though they have reset, and replaced different things trying to fix the problem. They finally just shrugged their shoulders and gave me back the car, thinking I was nuts or lying. Then
on 5/20/05 FOX news came out with a report saying this mysterious engine failure has happened to dozens of people's Dodge trucks and Durangos and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration is now investigating what may turn into a recall of 506,000 vehicles.
