Water pump went out on us last year. Had to replace the serpentine belt.
For the past 2 years now the transmission has been acting up, the engine has to be warmed up before it will kick into gear.
Other than the car's transmission acting strange it has been a really dependable car. Very powerful for a family car! :-)
My transmission does the same thing, must just be the transmission in the 92 Dynasty's.
I have a 1992 Dodge Dynasty as well. My Transmission was acting up the same way. What I recommend is that you change the Tranny fluid and filter. Then afterwards add prolong to the tranny. After about 20 miles of driving with the new fluid, filter, and prolong, You will notice that it won't give you any more problems. Jut wanted to help you out. I know how much those Electronic Transmissions cost to replace.
My Transmission has been failing too. I'll try that prolong thing, but my problem may be bigger. There was a metal chunk and smaller pieces in the transmission pan and since changing the transmission oil it has gotten worse.
Anybody who may know what the problem is if you could e-mail me at giverson2000@yahoo.com thanks.
I have a 1993 Dodge Dynasty, and the transmission acts the same way. I have to let the car run for about 5 minutes, no matter what the temp is outside, just so that it will kick into gear, and I can go about my merry way.
My parents were the original owners of this car, has been very well taken care of. The transmission is the only thing that worries me, afraid I won't have the money for a new one when it goes out!
