1996 Dodge Grand Caravan SE review from North America
"Very unreliable and poor dealer service... not a winning combination"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
If it could go wrong, it did go wrong...
The transmission was replaced 3 times and still slipped as the car was taken back (it was leased).
The windshield wipers went on and off by themselves.
CD player would not load and the buttons on the radio would do other functions than you requested (you would press CD and the radio would go to an FM station or you might press SEEK to go up a track on your CD and you would go down a track).
The middle captains chair would disconnect itself from the floor when you leaned back in it.
The fuel gauge broke.
Brakes were loud and noisy and frequently made metal on metal noises, and some other smaller things.
General comments?
In short, unreliable, with poor dealer service and many recurring problems... car was nice with many good design and comfort features, but its reliability turned us away from Chrysler products for a long time... after this car, we bought a car we knew would be reliable... a Toyota Sienna.
