1997 Dodge Grand Caravan SE review from North America
"Most comfortable piece of junk I have ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Windshield wiper problems.
AC evaporator at 2 years and 39000 miles had leak.
Ac evaporator at 7 years and 82000 miles leaking again.
Drivers side window motor.
Belt and idle tensioner many times.
Water pump.
Gas tank sending unit.
Radiator fan relay.
Transmission leaks 3 times.
Left and right CV joints and axles.
Tires keep cupping and no one can tell me why.
Tape deck still broke.
Rear window motor bad.
Front brakes done twice, rears once.
Engine oil leaks.
Today on my way to trade car in for a Honda, my big trade in worth all of 2000 dollars due to AC not working, rear window and tape deck, the engine started running rough and check engine light came on so I had to limp home. Now I do not know if I should take it back to Dodge so it can at least run when I trade it in or just call the junk yard now.
General comments?
I love the van, but hate the reliability and would never buy another dodge again, I have been burned twice and will not do it again. They have the same problems year after year and do not seem to care. Dodge owners trade your car in before it is too late.
