1996 Dodge Grand Caravan LE review from North America
"Can't part with it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Spontaneous wiper turn-on.
Power door-locks got stuck.
Heater was making a thudding sound.
General comments?
The more we look at other cars, the more we appreciate this LE. It has every comfort option imaginable and the engine and transmission are smooth and reliable.
A number of people have complained about the phantom wiper problem. For us, the wipers started on whenever the left blinker was turned on. The dealer replaced a "multi-purpose switch" for about $100.
The heater/fan caused a strange thudding sound on the right side at about 110,000. That was about a $300.00 repair.
Still, for power, transmission, and interior comfort, it's been great. We bought a 4-liter Jeep to tow a camper; I think the Caravan could pull the Jeep *and* the camper better!
