Stearing unit was replaced at around 4000 miles (just past 3yr 3600 miles warranty) after the tension rod broke off backing out a a driveway on Thanksgiving evening., even though we logged several complaints to the dealor months prior.
4 sets of front brakes ea. lasting less than 6000 miles. (rotors once (after second front pad repair) 1 set rare pads. A/C never worked after the stearing unit was repair. (dealer insisted it wasn't a result of there work and refused to cover cost of repair. Front axle was replaced at 48000 and is showing signs of problems again at 55000. ahhh.. and now Dec 2005 56000 miles and I'm faced with headgasket is leaking and will cost > $1200 dollars to fix..
Forget it! this car has been my worst night mare and is going (like a boat $$$). Dodge will not be on the list for my next car. or any after that.!
(I love my Jeep Wrangler!!)
Uhhh... You *do* know that your Jeep is made by Chrysler, right? The same people who made your van.
Now, what vehicle brand will your next purchase be?
Well consider the source. The chances are that somebody who has at least one word spelled incorrectly in every sentence (including two in the title) probably doesn't know enough to take very good care of their car. A 3-year or 3,600 mile warranty? Try 36,000 miles. Plenty of people have great luck with Dodge Caravans.
I own a 97 grand caravan SE with 111000+ miles, I just rebuild the transmission, replaced all the engine seals rbiult the front end for around 3000.00 cheaper than going out and buying a new one. I love this car because you can haul stuff like a truck.
