1998 Dodge Intrepid from North America - Comments

This is the second Dodge Intrepid I've owned. I had a 93 right before this one. It wasn't too bad of a car considering its age.

I bought this 1998 2.7 L Intrepid in April 04. Haven't had a season go by that I haven't had some kind of problem with it.

In the last year, I've had to purchase a new radiator and new cooling fans. For some reason, it's two fans but one unit... that's not a scam...

As others have stated on here, my window motors have gone out... except the same one went out twice in a month. I just got tinting on all the windows, the first one went out, they scratched the tinting, had it retinted, the new motor went out in less than a month, and they scratched the tinting replacing the motor again.

The A/C and heater only work on high.

And twice now since I've owned the car, 3 of the 5 bolts have completely sheered off the front right wheel at high speeds (65-70 mph); the car is a death trap.

After replacing a cracked radiator and the cooling fans, my car STILL overheats.

Suddenly now, I have a bad water pump and needs to be replacef (only 650 bucks with labor). They get in there and tell me the timing belt would've broken loose at anytime. So, that's another 650 bucks. Odd to find out that a 650 dollar water pump saved me from having to buy a 5000 engine... Did I just technically save money?

Bye bye Dodge, your car has been nothing but a pain in my side.

I have the same problems with my 1998 2.7. I bought it used and have had it for just a little over a year. Have already put money into it than I bought the car for, and it broke down again!!!
