1996 Dodge Intrepid ES review from North America
"I paid $9,000 and another 4 grand in repairs and improvements"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rack & pinion steering came apart and almost wrecked going onto a entrance ramp.
AC has a mind of it's own, turning on or off whenever it wants to.
Has a shudder in the transmission that the dealer can't explain.
Turn signals stopped working one day and the dealer couldn't find the problem. A mechanic said he could rewire (hot-wire) and add a fuse, and now they work.
Brakes are noisy.
Plastic c-bars (molding) around the windows are faded and cracked. Also had to completely repaint the car, finish became faded and lost its shine.
Headlight lens caps are faded and have water condensation inside.
General comments?
My Intrepid is a classy looking car with the new paint and tinted windows.
The ride is smooth and very comfortable, with excellent acceleration. AC is extremely cold which is great, as long as it stays on, I just have to reprogram it about 3 times in a hour.
Speakers blew out, but replaced with Jensen, also added a Kicker Amp and 12' sub-woofers. The car can rock!!
