1999 Dodge Intrepid ES review from North America

Four times window off track.

Two window motor replacements.

One Transmission replacement at 16,000 miles.

One torque converter replacement at 35,000 miles.

Three speed sensor switches replaced.

One electronic mirror replaced.

Internal lights blink on and off,

dealer can't find problem.

When down shifting from second to first gear car sometimes bucks and stalls, dealer can't find problem.

Headlights are fogged up.

Two blown speakers.

Rear wheel bearings replaced.

Four transmission sensors replaced.

Numerous times, about 5, car locked in second gear.

I know there is more, but I can't remember them all.

I purchased the car new. Car is a good looker. Very comfortable. However, if you are considering this one you better have a friend that owners a tow truck and have a wad of cash for above normal repairs.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, I had to purchase a $2,500.00 extended warranty, $100.00 deductible, from Dodge just before the 36,000 mile warranty expired. I did this for fear of having to pay for problems later on.

While this warranty has covered the repairs and given me a sense of security, I have lost countless hours of arranging service, taking it to the dealer, renting cars, etc.

Both the dealer and even Dodge have indicated numerous times to me that my transmission problems, light blinking problem, is the first they heard. Well, if you perform a search on the web you will find hundreds of these posting. This is one big cover up.
