The reason for this information is that I have contacted Dodge at the above number, in regards to my Intrepid problems. They then gave me a phone number for their customer relations 1-800-992-1997 push #1 then #5, and I was given a reference number for them to refer to. (Please note that I had to listen to elevator music for nearly 6 minutes.) However, lovely Dodge claims that they have not been made aware of this fact; the problems with this junk of car. I told them that I will never own another Dodge, Chrysler or anything to do with their company again. They will not launch an investigation into the problem without a certain number of complaints and order to get this number; which they would not give me the number, they need their consumers to call them personally and lodge a complaint with their company. This is the only way that we are going to win this thing. We can sit here all we want and moan and groan about it, but unless we make our voices heard, nothing will be done and Dodge will have the upper hand on everyone with this car. They told me all I can do is get the repairs done, hold onto all the receipts and if there is ever a recall, I will get reimbursed for the price; providing that you have the proof of the work being done. We all need to rally together on this! We all been emptied from too much money due to this car and we all deserve to be taken care of. So, please take the time to call Dodge and lodge a complaint, it will take about 15 minutes of your time! Won't it be worth it if Dodge finally had to pay up for their wrong doing? We would be the victorious ones, not them! Let's get them for what we deserve! Let me know your outcome of your phone calls, maybe then if we all do this together, a Lawyer will finally help us out! Sincerely, Mary goofy52998@hotmail.com.
Please take the time to help yourself and others fight Dodge in this. We need everyone to join!
I sincerely doubt that Dodge isn't aware of the problems with Intrepids (the 2.7 in particular). I'm sure they receive many calls to the effect every day and that each one of those people get the answer "gee, this is the first we've heard of it". Calling Dodge themselves isn't likely to get anything done, as your concerns will quickly be swept under the rug. Your best bet is to talk to a lawyer and if I'm not mistaken there's already a class action lawsuit on this matter.
I too have a worthless 1999 Dodge Intrepid.
I loved the car for about 10,000 miles then everything went wrong! Transmission, power window motors, A/C, heater, then the big one as they all do sooner or later the timing belt went out and it actually ruined the motor.
I owe $8000.00 on a car that is not worth repairing.
I have called Dodge and after 40 minutes on the phone of course they came back and said sorry! Please anyone send me info on a class action suit and my email is imowalot@comcast.net
Thank you.
Class action lawsuits are a boondoggle for lawyers. Lawyers will suck anyone dry they can get their hands on, regardless of the ramifications, or whether it is right or wrong. Our laws (made by lawyers) are structured so that lawyers have to get involved in everything, and people living in the real world (non-lawyers) are held hostage in the self perpetuating cycle of corruption.
I know that you all have been legitimately wronged by Dodge, and are entitled to compensation. But please (I am not saying you are not doing this) approach your grievance in the spirit of righting the wrong that has been done to you. Please do not have a "sticking it to the man" mentality, and be mindful that the lawyer, whom everyone is singing accolades about, makes his living off the suffering and misfortune of others. Do not forget that the big companies whom the lawyers could not care less about strong-arming out of business, create jobs, which would be lost from a major judgment.
I am not not saying you should not stand up for what is right, and let any injustice committed against you stand. But before you think that any one course of action is the solve-all/end-all, follow the money trail, and see who is promoting, and who really wins (and who loses), in these "class-action" lawsuits. You have every right to seek what you are rightfully entitled, but no more. Then, hold your nose, and watch the lawyer take your misfortune to the bank.
Good luck.
I have a 1998 Intrepid. The timing went out, it makes a grinding noise, it no longer runs but when it did I had to leave the air conditioner on or the car would quit and the front passenger window always stuck. Originally when I got it I was so excited because of the room and it looked luxurious. Ha Ha, the laugh was on me. PIECE OF JUNK! Every dodge I have owned was horrible but this was the worst. I wouldn't buy another one. Ugh!!!
