2002 Dodge Intrepid SE from North America - Comments

"If it can handle everyday driving of me... then I'd say it's one hell of a car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Shortly after purchasing the car, the

engine bottom end had to be replaced due

to a faulty oil sensor. The dealer replaced it and nothing else has gone

wrong with the car.

General comments?

I'm not sure why so many people are having problems with the motor. Because

I'm sure no one drives them harder than I do.

The car is actually quite impressive to be so large with only 200

horses and 190 ft. lbs. torque. One of my managers has a 03 mustang gt 5-speed.

He gets me from low end, but I've got him in top end. It's just the base model, but it will still hang with v-8 trans ams. Ws6...that's another story. It's not even my car, and to be honest, I don't even give a crap.

Just giving props where it's due. I've

driven some pretty wicked cars, like

a Mitsubishi Lacer EVO VIII, couple of

Modded AWD turbocharged Talons and Eclipses. I'm not saying that the base

intrepid fairs very well when compared to these cars. But what I am saying is

the intrepid is in no way a piece of junk.

Come back in 10,000-20,000 miles after your engine has blown itself to pieces.

My 02' Intrepid was a great car, and I beat the crap out of it!!!

51,000 miles strong and still going, I don't know what all these other people are doing wrong!!!

But I'd buy another Intrepid in a heartbeat!!!

Mopar rules!!!

P.S. I just traded it in on a 2003 Durango with 47,000 miles on it so far so good!!!

P.P.S. MY 88' DAKOTA WITH 172,000 MILES ON IT AND MY 71' CHARGER WITH WELL OVER 200,000 MILES ON IT ARE ALSO RUNNING GREAT!!!

I agree with you guys, Have a 2002 2.7 Intrepid that I beat the heck out of. I bought the car about a year and a half ago and I had no problems yet... Just hit 79,000 miles today! Maybe these cars are made to be beat to work properly? Anyways I love the car and would love to get another one... Great job Dodge!

I got my Dodge Intrepid 2002 used and I have nothing but problems with it.

First the transmission went out. I spent $1500.00 for that problem.

Next the computer went out; another $500.00.

Next the oxygen sensors went out.

Now the water pump is leaking; 1200.00, and I still owe 5 payments 1750.00. WHAT A BUST.
