Today, at 59500 miles I had to replace the front brake rotors. Only 89.00 each; away from the dealership. Also replaced the passenger side fog light. Very expensive at the dealership, (only place available) at 120.00 dollars.
This is a very good car. It has helped me through heavy snow and rain and has never left me stranded. If taken care of, this is a great car. I love the leather and 4 disc CD changer and even my two 100 pound dogs cannot destroy the leather in the back.
I also own a 2001 Intrepid with the very same mileage. I also just replaced the front brake rotors with low cost. This is a great car. I will never sell it. The leather is the best and the Infinity stereo is awesome. Best of all, this is the easiest car to drive and has enough "giddy up" to be fun. I bought it at 14K as a program car and have run Mobile 1 in it ever since. Great car. I have a yak rack on top for the kayak and bikes. Even though it is low, it goes great through snow. Great road trip car. My best advise. Take care of the front brakes and put Michelins on this car. I have owned a lot of Dodge products through the years. This is one of their best.
My wife and I just yesterday bought an '01 Intrepid ES with 50K KM on it and in immaculate condition except for a few light scrapes on the bumper, nothing serious just cosmetic. I commute 200km a day and in the winter of course I deal with a bit of snow. It's good to hear comments about how good this car is in the snow. We've only had the car two days, but Man o' man I sure do like it!!
