2001 Dodge Intrepid SE review from North America
"Only buy one with a new engine - the factory engine will go"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Cam sensor - 30,000 miles.
Crank sensor - 75,000 miles.
Valve ports are not large enough to accommodate oil flow causing stress to the valve seating and "blowing" oil out the exhaust. Oil sits on head and does not drip down the manifold as it should. I have spoken with many area auto mechanics - many of them have 3-4 of the identical car in their shop.
Suggested repair - REPLACE ENGINE - even a rebuild won't help. The cost to replace is $5000.
77,000 miles seems to be the "magic" number for this car
It should be sold as "disposable", like a BIC lighter.
General comments?
Car has MANY blind spots and difficult to determine front and rear clearance.
Drives smoothly and handles well though.
