What things have gone wrong with the car?
Control for power outside mirrors replaced under warranty.
Exhaust resonator replaced under warranty.
General comments?
Very good seats; ride is stable and comfortable. I can ride all day in this car without developing a backache.
The interior room is outstanding, especially the rear seat legroom. The trunk is huge, and when the back seats are folded, it is expanded even further.
Overall handling is excellent, much better than the first generation (I also have a '96 with almost 200,000 miles). The car corners and drives like a much smaller one.
Dependability has been excellent to this point. Only the two warranty items I listed have needed repair in the 30,000 miles I have owned the car.
The 3.2 is the tightest motor I've ever owned, using less than a quart of oil between 6-7,000 mile changes (Amsoil synthetic).
Fuel mileage is good at 24 around town (lots of freeway) and 30 on the highway.
Power is very good; not in the class of a Maxima, but plenty of scoot.
I think this is one of the best styled cars on the road, and it will look good many years down the road.
