Car has been excellent.
More room inside than the Highlander. More power than the Highlander. Reliability is yet to be proven on this platform.
A close relative to the charger, 300 and possibly the up and coming Challenger... All new design for late 2004/Present. This vehicle is powerful and practical. Shared power trains. Excellent parts availability. Daimler-Chrysler group has to hit a home run with this new line-up. It looks like they are on their way. Notwithstanding, only time will tell.
Accepting of hard acceleration.
Five link rear suspension and fully independent.
Five speed tiptronic.
Would be nice to have a 6 speed manual option.
Four wheel large disks and 17 inch wheels with optional 18's. You have to love this car!
There is an exactly similar review for the 2006 dodge charger. Are you a dealer???
In response to "There is an exactly similar review for the 2006 dodge charger. Are you a dealer?"
What do you mean by "exactly similar"? The cars are built on the same platform and share many of the same parts. They are similar, but exactly similar?
Drive them, and then you will know. I am not a dealer - but a Dodge owner.
These cars remind me of a time when Dodge made decent and reliable rear wheel drive cars.
I am tired of dealers posting on this site which is obvious that you are a dealer. Seriously if someone wants a magnum they are much better off with a charger. I guess you have to unload all those unwanted magnums.
I've owned 3 Dodges, all absolutely bullet proof (one made 240,000 miles with virtually no problems). I looked at the Magnum, but was totally turned off by the poor visibility from the driver's seat, especially to the rear. Then I looked at the new Charger. A FOUR DOOR sports car?? No, I'll stick with something a little more traditionally sporty (with TWO doors). Chrysler builds awesomely reliable cars, but the styling department must be on drugs.
<<Chrysler builds awesomely reliable cars, but the styling department must be on drugs.>.
And vice versa. Chrysler products are renowned for being "used cars and trucks" to avoid.
If I was a dealer, I would be dealing cards. I just appreciate when a company - at least - tries to make changes for the better.
Take a close look, there are other companies trying to do just that.
Besides, what's wrong with saying something good about a car company for a change? If the car becomes problematic, I’ll certainly post it. That’s what this sites about.
It's really funny that any time someone says something NICE about a domestic, the import crowd starts accusing them of being domestic car salesman. Gee, I guess the Taurus owners from 2002-2005 on here who LOVE their cars must all be Ford salesman while the 2002-2005 CAMRY owners who say they'd NEVER buy another Toyota must also sell Fords???
They probably are dealers for Ford as Ford makes nothing, but garbage vehicles (aside from the f-150).
Chrysler and GM are doing a descent job with their styling and they have improved on reliability. Ford is just a crap company that is lucky to still be alive.
Actually all of the American auto makers are doing better with their designs. Ford has the new Taurus, Edge, Fusion, and F-series trucks, GM has whole new car and truck designs, and Dodge has done a wonderful job with its new cars and trucks.
As far as having a classic sports car with 2 doors, Dodge is proving that you can have speed, muscle, beautiful design, and good fuel economy all at the same time while you save on isurance because you have a "family vehicle". I commend the engineers of all three, they all have good ideas and are doing their best to improve. If you don't believe that, then go ride a bicycle.
I have a 05 jeep grand cherokee limited hemi should I trade to get a magnum r/t I need a wagon for my dogs bit want the sport look. I traded my 05 mag. for the jeep because of some problems starting and rear window like some other posts it was a 3.5.
To the guy with the Jeep Limited 05 Hemi. You'll really have to do your research. The magnum I think gets better gas mileage, but you sacrificing a little bit of space and a good ground clearance for a sportier look. The hatch on the magnum is not too big so you cannot fit a lot of things back there. If you're just getting it for your dogs than that would be cool, but do the research.
Lots of problems with my 2006 magnum. Within 2000 miles had head gasket replaced, a little after that transmission leak... now at around 8000 miles steering wheel locked up. Nice looking, but not worth the hassle.
In regards to the above comment... that's why you have a warranty. When an automobile is manufactured all is not perfect. Yes, this includes Honda and Toyota. In the production process there are good units and bad. The game is to limit the bad. If problems persist, get an extended warranty or swap for another vehicle. Reliability in production is always a gamble... the best you can do is reduce the odds.
I put 12,000 miles on in 5 months because I love driving it that much. My SXT got 32 MPG with the air on and at 60-70 miles per hour crossing the Canadian prairies. Completely reliable and very comfortable. I love the look and get stopped and asked about it all the time.
I am not a dealer just a very happy owner. I hope that the new owners of Chrysler keep this in production. Oh and about the visibility, a $99.00 back up camera solved that one.
I think Dodge did a great job with the charger. Bottom line, this is a 21st century charger. It makes sense as a bold looking, fast and very roomy sedan for many life styles. If someone is looking for a traditional sporty 2 door, there is the Ford mustang.
