1976 Dodge Monaco review from North America
"A Reliable Land Yacht"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have not experienced any major or minor problems with the car, except for a slight lack of power from the engine.
General comments?
This car is a very heavy land yacht, and it rides like a sled. It has an extremely comfortable interior that is very large and roomy.
Although the engine runs a little on the rough side and lacks some low end power (easily fixed), it is a true gem.
The 2-barrel carburetor on the V-8 360 has helped keep the mileage above 10 MPG. This is amazing for a car of this size and age.
Since many of these cars were destroyed in the movie The Blues Brothers (they served as the police chase cars), I am hoping to keep mine in like new, original condition. I am also looking for other 1976 and 1974 Monaco cars as they are even better than the 1975 Buick I recently sold for restoration.
