1995 Dodge Neon Highline Sedan review from North America

Various O2 sensor replacements.

The engine light comes on and off, sometimes giving no OBD codes.

New transmission needed at 80,000.

Oil leaking at 78,000.

Stereo speakers needed replacing at 73,000 under normal usage.

This car stinks.

A cotton ball could practically scratch the paint, and the trim around the windows is completely chipped away.

However, the areas of the car that aren't scratched are still fairly shiny.

It is a very room small car, I've filled it to capacity, both in the seats and the trunk (with fold down backseat). 4 people can ride comfortably for a long time, and 5 can ride well for short distances. I fit a 26 inch mountain bike in the backseat.

The engine is loud, but fairly powerful for a 2.0 L sedan.

The gas mileage is still around 29mpg.

The interior materials are cheap, various trimmings will fall off or become loose.

The rear floor, tail lights and spare tire well will be filled with water unless the area around the trunk is reinsulated.

The car handles well, and is easy to park.

The ATX should be 4 rather than 3 speeds.

The cab forward design makes some repairs more expensive, because certain areas are compacted in the small under-hood area.

Defroster and heater are pathetic, and the windshield is insulated so badly, that during cold weather, there is frost on the inside.

Console has a tissue holder.
