1999 Dodge Neon Highline from North America - Comments

"A good car and would buy another one"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

It blew a head gasket at the dealership, but it occurred before I arrived there to first see it. But was replaced for free.

Cup holders are in a poor spot and theres not a lot of room.

Shifter is loose, I can shift the car from reverse to neutral without needing to push the button in on the shifter.

Car won't start if I turn the wheel to far over, when on a hill, it locks up the ignition.

During the replacement of a headlight bulb, a clip holding the front bumper broke and now the bumper is tilted a little. It would cost $157 to get it realigned and fixed.

General comments?

Although the brakes squeak on basically all Neons, you can't help it. It is the brake calipers that Dodge uses on them. After the brakes warm up they work good and no squeaking.

It has a pretty good ride to it.

Performance wise is pretty good, but I added a K&N air filter to my car and added Bosch +4 spark plugs and wiring to

my car.

The factory radio has OK quality, but mine is gone now. For a suggestion to everyone get a Alpine head unit for it, excellent sound quality in a Neon.

For those reading this review and think that being able to shift from R into N without pressing the button on the selector is a problem, I assure you, it's not. This is perfectly normal and intentional. It is also intentional for the selector to be able to move freely between N and D, though not N back into R, for obvious reasons.
